Meanwhile at the castle, Seto is looking forward to beating Pegasus and getting his brother back. Little does he know that Pegasus is looking forward to the duel too.
Back at the castle gate, Mai told Yugi that everyone loses once in a while. Mai said that she wanted to pay him back for beating Panik and saving her from being kicked out of the competition. Joey was suprised, but Mai showed them that she had 16 starchips in total. Mai began to get mad at Yugi. She then changed her mind about giving him starchips. Tea then challenged Mai to a duel for the starchips. Mai accepted, knowing that Tea couldn't win.
AS the duel began, tea summoned Petit Angel in attack mode. The rest of the gang though that monster had no chance of winning. Mai then summoned Harpie Lady. Mai set a card and destroyed Petit Angel(Tea's LP:1300). Tea then summoned Fairie's Gift. She then saw that she had Waboku in her hand. She didn't remember hat it did so she just set it for later. Tea attacked with Fairie's Gift, but Mai activated Rose Whip to power up Harpie Lady. Fairie's Gift was destroyed(Tea's LP:1100).
Mai told Tea to go back to cheerleading. Meanwhile Bakura was impressed with Mai's strategy. Even with the odds stacked against her, tea didn't give up even though Yugi wasn't watching the duel. Mai then drew and set Harpie's Feather Duster. tea was upset because know she had another card to worry about. tea then drew Shining Friendship. The name reminded her of the strength and support of her friends. Tea then summoned it. Mai attacked it with Harpie Lady, but Tea activated Waboku, protecting it. Mai was impressed that Tea had such a powerful trap card. Tea admitted that she was scared, but she will keep on fighting and face her fears. This comment was heard by Yugi, who was unable to face his own fears.
Tea then set the Magician of Faith. She equipped the Silver Bow and Arrow to Shining Friendship. Mai then powered up Harpie Lady with Cyber Shield and used De-Spell to destroyed the Silver Bow and Arrow. Mai then destroyed Tea's Magician of Faith. Mai had to remind that tea could bring one magic card from her graveyard back to her hand. Mai then told tea that she can't fight all of yugi's battles for him.
At this time, Yugi decided to duel again. He decided he must face his fears. With the support of Yugi, Tea's confidence grew. Tea then got the Sliver Bow and Arrow back from the graveyard and equipped it to her Shing Friendship. She then used Elf's Light on her Shining Friendship. tea then set a card and ended her turn. Mai attacked with Harpie Lady, but tea activated De-Spell and destroyed Mai's Cyber Sheild. harpie lady was destroyed(Mai's LP:1600).
Tea started celebrating her vicotr over Mai's Harpie Lady. Mai knew she could have activated Harpie's Feather Duster. Mai then surrendered to Tea. Mai then handed tea the starchips. Yugi sensed that Mai could have won. Tea then gave Yugi six starchips. Yugi thanked his friends. He then asked Mai about the face down card, but she told him that it was useless. The gang then headed towards to castle to finish the tournament.
