Yugi received a envelope at his game shop that night. The envelope had five cards inside it, each about Duelist Kingdom. Yugi found out that he would have to leave for Duelist Kingdom in two days. Yugi's friends later try to convince not to go alone, since it could be dangerous. They couldn't go because they didn't have any starchips. Joey then heard about the $3 million prize money and knew he had to go, so he could help his sister.
At this time, Yugi and Joey started talking about how they became friends. Yugi remembered that his grandpa had gone to Egypt. When his grandpa had came back, he had given Yugi a box with pieces of the puzzle. Yugi had spent years trying to complete the puzzle. He later met Joey and Tristin. They picked on him a lot, but they later told him that they were trying to make him tough. The three later became friends and Yugi then completed the Millenium Puzzle.
Two days later, Yugi was in line, waiting to board the ship. A guard told everyone that they couldn't board the ship until they had a starchip. Joey tried to sneak on board, but the guards caught him. At this time Tea and Tristin snuck on board and hid with the cargo. Yugi heard the arguement between Joey and the guards, so he gave Joey one starchip. The guard let Joey on board, but he told Yugi that he would have a big disadvantage.
Yugi then told Joey to keep quiet about only having one starchip, but a duelist named Mai heard them. She was suprised that Yugi had beaten Seto Kaiba. As Yugi and Joey explored the ship, they met Rex Raptor and Weevil Underwood. Weevil told Yugi that he would be interested in duelling Yugi. As they continued to talk, Weevil sneered at the duelists who were trading.
Elsewhere on the ship, Mai was disgusted by her room. She bumped into Rex Raptor, who had a better room since he was 2nd place in the Nationals, and challenged him to a duel for his room. He wasn;t sure, but she told him that she would kiss him if he won. Meanwhile Tea and Tristin were hiding. The then saw Bakura, a boy from school, and wondered why he was there. They decided not to confront him, since they were both not supposed to be on the ship. Meanwhile Joey was trading. he had gotten some pretty powerful cards. Yugi then gave him Time Wizard. At this time Weevil asked Yugi if he could see Exodia. Yugi gave him the cards, but weevil threw it off the ship. Joey jumped in to save the cards. Yugi had to jump in too to save Joey and then Tea and Tristin helped them get out. Joey was unable to get all the pieces. He gave the two pieces he had saved back to Yugi and said sorry. Yugi said it was okay. Joey then told his friends about Serenity and her eyesight. Meanwhile Mai had won her duel with Rex and she threw him out of the room.
