Survakari
Survakari are usually kids going from house to house wishing people a Happy New Year. Late after midnight, they set out on their round of the homes, tapping everybody on the back with decorated corneal twigs and wish health, long life and success. The corneal twig, or sourvachka, is their indispensable attribute, and is differently decorated in the country's different regions. While tapping people on the back with the sourvachka, they say a little rhime, wishing good new year and a lot of health and good luck. After they are done, they receive couple of bucks for that. |
