The Parlaiment in Sofia is located in the center of the city, and it is across the street from the Sofia University. Right across it was the building where the body of the dead communist leader was in (mavzolei). This building was empty for the last few years and nobody could decide what to do with the building. Finally this year (1999) the Mayor Sofianski ordered "mavzoleiat" to be destroyed. The reason was that this will remind to the people bad memories, and will keep the communism alive. All communists were against that but the Democracy won and the building was tored down.
So, the Parliament is an old building with very fine wooden furniture inside. Every day all major political powers are there talking and voting about laws and controling the country.
