MARTIAL ARTS GALLERY

Before you even ask, the ring photographed in some of these pictures is NOT available for use during sessions.  It strictly belongs to a martial arts school and is intended for that purpose only.  Thank you for your understanding.
Martial Arts is something I have always taken very seriously.  I began studying a variety of different styles at age 17.  In 1996, I retired undefeated from competitive tournament fighting and chose to continue to experiment with different styles as an ART, not a SPORT.  Some of the styles I've studied include Shidokan Karate, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, Judo (grappling/submission/wrestling), Tai Chi, Hapkido and Tae Kwon Do.

The photos on this page range from various styles I've studied and go far back from "beginner classes" to most recent.

Now before you ask for an all out competitive martial arts match, please read the following carefully... I will NOT risk the injuries of competing in an "anything goes sparring match."
However, if you think you can handle my body kicks and punches as well as my takedowns in a martial arts (or mixed type match) feel free to let me know & I'll be happy to whoop your ass!

PLEASE remember - although I do no longer regularly attend martial arts classes as I used to I still "dabble" in various forms of arts and hold the highest respect for the discipline of each & every martial art out there.  There is no "best martial art" so please let's not even start on that conversation!
There are some individuals out there who believe that a martial artist is "indestructable."  Come on, you should know better than that!  We are skilled and disciplined with power & knowledge but we are still human!
I'd also like to add that if you're interested in scheduling a "martial arts related match" or one that consists of basic martial arts as well (or if you are just curious) I would be more than happy to teach you the basic forms of various styles as part of your session!  If you're interested in learning a certain kick, takedown, throw-down, strike, etc., I do have the ability & equipment for you to practice and learn.  You can consider me your private one on one teacher during our session as well if martial arts interests you!  I am a former children's instructor and (trust me on this one) if you can teach kids, you can teach ANYBODY!  If you have studied a certain style I'm not familiar with I'd be more than happy to "exchange notes" with you as well.  Like I said, I take martial arts very seriously but when it's incorporated into a session it can be a lot of fun and a great learning experience for both of us!
