| Broken Angel Here sits an angel all torn apart Her spirit is broken, and so is her heart All she wanted was love and for someone to care But when she looked around, no one was there The pain runs deep; you can see it in her eyes Throughout her life, she's been told nothing but lies With every breath taken, she sheds another tear She wishes for someone to come and take away her fear She's tired of hurting; she can't handle any more pain How much sorrow can one's life contain? She longs to be held, each and every day But everyone leaves, no one chooses to stay During the day she pretends to be happy and strong And searches for a place she feels she can belong She'll take the pain from deep within her heart And hide it from everyone right from the start The quietly she kneels as she begins to pray For God to come down and take her away Her emotions are numb, she's tired of trying The thought of being alone leaves her crying The night has come, the moon is bright The stars are out; what a beautiful sight Yet hears sits an angel all torn apart Her spirit is broken and so is her heart Written by Kristy Kennedy 12/04/03 |
