Basic Feng Shui
The Feng Shui Elements
There are five feng shui elements.  They are
wood, earth, metal, fire and water.  When these five elements are balanced in your living quarters, your life is better balanced, and you are more likely to have what you want in life.  This means your home is working for you, rather than you working for your home.  Place these feng shui elements in the appropriate area of your home with the intention that they will work for you.  Besides just merely placing the various elements in your home, there are two ways you can utilize them:

Creative Cycle
The Creative Cycle involves one element "creating" another.  An example would be something like this, water "feeds" or creates wood.

Destructive Cycle
However, the Destructive Cycle is different because some elements can overpower other elements.  For instance, water will "put out" or destroy fire.
