My Asian Oasis
Back
I just got finished tearing up my dusty, old, blue carpet in my room and laying down hard wood flooring.I think it looks really kool and I like the pattern. It also goes with the asain theme to:) Here are some pictures of the process.
Here you can see the concrete after the carpet was torn up.
Here is when we first started laying down the tiles.
The floor is starting to look KOOL!
Here are two links to get you started and see some of the cool Asian things that are out there:)
www.tatamiroom.com   This site is really good! It has lots of kool lighting made from rice paper lamps as well as tatami mats and sholi screens. GREAT site.
www.japanesegifts.com/catalog.htm    This site has other unique asian things to check out.
Here are some of the Asain qualities of my room.
Enjoy!
This is my wonderful bed:) It has awesome lime green sheets with a zebra (but brown) comforter. I just got the Ivory and broen pillows, they are chinelle and really soft!
This is a Lepoard tapestry I have hanging up.
This is a vase filled with some bamboo I bought and cut up. I think it adds a nice touch:)
This shows my three Chinese paper lamps. The top one is orange, the middle is green, and the bottom is blue.
This is my little Zen Garden:)
This is a kool plant I bought just recently. I now know the plant I have is called a corn plant.
This shows my wall with leopard spots painted on it using......a potatoe!
On 2/18/03 I stenciled some more on my wall and here are the pics.
Love Long Life
Tranquility
These two pics are of my mister. It took a lot of money to set this thing up-close to $100! But it looks really cool!
On my dresser I have a lot of stuff. There is the mister, electric lamp, a fountain, my zen gardem, different types of rocks, and a shell or two.
