The color of the world after it rains for days
Everything seems like a shade of gray
Even the bright green grass and the shiny colorful flowers
Are tinted gray
Like a black and white television show
Or old faded color movies
Most say how dreary and yucky it is
I think, wow, I know this place well
Wondering if my external eyes are really seeing this
For me, this is shocking
The outside world similar to the one in my mind
The only difference is the outside world will go away
The colors will come back
And everyone will forget the somber world
For in a day, a hour, or a minute
The sun will brake through the gray clouds
The birds fly out of the shelter they took refuge in
Back to the usual, flying high and targeting cars with their colorful droppings
The grass reflecting the light from the sun, sparkling
Transforming the grim world into enchanting beauty
The world in my mind stays forever grim
Seeing the beauty and dismissing it as a dream
For my reality is the shades of gray
Absence of light.
