This is a simple conversion
of the reissued Tamiya Porsche 935/78. The base kit is not bad considering
it's
20 years old and has the
option of being motorized. This conversion is a back dating of the
kit to the original covered door/low wing prototype. Basically this
involves filling the doors, cutting in the large side NACA ducts
and adding a new lower rear
wing. The doors are constructed from sheet plastic and filler.
The rear wing on
the real car appears to
be taken from a Porsche 936/77, I've done the same. Wheels in the
kit are oversimplified one piece items . I'll borrow replacements
from an AMT 935 kit as they have separate wheel fans . The interior
will also receive a bit of detailing as most of the tube frame is missing,
no super detailing here just adding the appropriate looking clutter.
