She would make a great president. Her intelligence, compassion, determination.and sheer brilliance combined with her knowledge and experience with world affairs, would make her one of the greatest US presidents. As the US secretary of state she made very big contribution during the short period in office. She is also interested in the plight of the women throughout the world. She intervened on behalf of the Pakistani woman Mai who was raped on the orders of the village council and was prevented from leaving the country. We expect great many things from her before she runs for the US presidency for which she has a broad range of appeal as a candidate of sheer brilliance combined with knowledge and intelligence.

Secretary Rice Addresses the People of Cuba

Condoleezza Rice became the 66th Secretary of State on January 26, 2005. As she stated at her confirmation hearing, "we must use American diplomacy to help create a balance of power in the world that favors freedom. And the time for diplomacy is now."

Prior to becoming Secretary of State, Dr. Rice served as Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs, commonly referred to as the National Security Advisor.

She also was in government service from 1989 through March 1991, the period of German reunification and the final days of the Soviet Union, when she served in the Bush Administration as Director, and then Senior Director, of Soviet and East European Affairs in the National Security Council, and a Special Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs.

Looking back on that historic period, Secretary Rice recognizes the importance of unity of purpose and values and the strong support from the Congress in the advance of freedom. "Our task and our duty is to unite around a vision and policies that will spread freedom and prosperity around the globe."
