The Industrial Revolution definitely has its good and bad points. Personally, I think that the Industrial revolutions good points outweighed the bad, but at the same time I think it has it bad points. I guess I cant come to a definite decisions on weather it was completely good or completely bad. It had its ups and downs. One of the greatest advances of this time period was the creative new communication devices used to replace days of traveling from city to city. Life without technology is a life that we simply cannot imagine. Its a time that wed like to think was quite easy and to simple to require much work, when the case was the exact opposite. These times required as many workers as possible for as many jobs as were made possible. If it had not been for Industrialization, the world would currently be in quite a pitiful state. Before the revolution, people had only a few under garments that would be worn for long periods because people did not have the time to wash regularly. And even if they found time, they would be filthy the next day. After the revolution though, clothes were made daily and sold to people who would cherish the new and clean clothes that they had.
One of the reasons that the Industrial Revolution was bad was because it took away education. Children started to work in the factories and didnt have a chance to gain an education like they had when they worked on the farms. Also, when people worked on the farms, they worked according to the seasons. They planted and harvested during summer, spring and some of fall, but in the winter, they got to have time off from their work. When the factories came, they never got any time off. They worked a constant, harsh schedule. They even worked in the wintertime. They never got any breaks, either. The lives of every living person today have been changed by the revolution whether a good change, or even a bad change.

I agree with Kailee the pros of the Industrial Revolution do outweigh the cons of the Industrial Revolution. First of all, many inventions and new innovations sprang forth during the Industrialization period. Second of all, the use of iron and coal led to many inventions to improve energy, which led to electricity. Electricity today is the single most important aspect of society. Without electricity, we could not heat our house without a fire, we would have to walk to wherever we wanted to go, we would have to go talk to people instead of talking on the telephone, and many other inconveniences due to the lack of electricity. I would not be writing this as we speak if it were not for Industrialization. Haskell would be teaching a regular class and be keeping his grading records on paper, not the computer, if it werent for Industrialization. As you can see, Industrialization had and still has a great effect on our lives today. Im not saying everything in that period was good. Peasants worked incredibly long hours for so little pay. Also, children worked in coal mines, pulling carts through spots even dogs could not fit through. The parents, however, supported child labor because their childrens wages, although meager, helped support the family. As for all workers, the coal mines were a place of hardship. The air was so unhealthy to breathe, often peasants would get sick and lose their jobs, and sometimes they would just die. It was almost the same in the textile factories. Workers inside these factories would breathe in lint and other unhealthy thing from the air. The good things of the Industrialization period do outweigh the bad things, but it is not by much.
