She was cheating on Napoleon with a younger officer in Paris. She moved to Italy and then Napoleon went back to war. He wanted to make sure that his victories in Italy were widely publicized in Paris. He created his own history, he created his own newspapers. He actually wrote some articles about himself. In his time in Italy he had never stopped chasing Austrians. The Austrians sewed for negotiation and they met with one another. The Austrians refused his commands and Napoleon freaked out on them. After all he did get what he wanted. Now only Great Britain remained at war with France. He has still never lost a battle. Napoleon was a national hero. He went looking for opportunities to show his power. Napoleon went to Egypt looking for battle. The battle of the Pyramids was over in one hour. His dreams were quickly shattered. The only link he has with France was his fleet of ships and they were destroyed when seen off the shore of Egypt.
