Checking the Assumptions
1)the true relationsip
is linear
a)look at the scatterplot..does it appear to be linear
b)check the correlation....r = 1 or r = -1
c)look at the residual plot.....random scatter
2)the standard
deviation of the response about the true line is the same everywhere.....
3)the response varies normally about the true regression alone...looking
at the residuals...they should form a normal distribution construct a normal
probability plot of the residuals
Since one of the assumptions is NOT qualified,
we can't do the problem. However, I still did it in case you want to see
it.
