The Sporkster
We met back in September of 1999 and became instant friends. The very first time I actually "hung out" with her; a bunch of friends and myself just "cruised" the town. Oh, how exciting that was....no seriously...it was fun and we ended up at Walmart (the official hangout of bored people and where I work...oh lucky me!) playing in the Toy department. From there, we went to Toxic Hell, where the nickname Spork originated...given to her by none other than moi!!!! Someone had needed a utensil for their dinner and "Spork" went to get them one....two....three...aw, hell a whole freaking handful of them. This handful was later found in the seats of the car that we had taken that evening by my friends father (OOPS!). So that day, I dubbed her "spork" and it just kinda stuck.
Spork and I began to hang out all of the time to the point where she was basically living here. We became pretty much inseparable and still have an extremely close friendship. She was definately my best friend. From May until October we were roomies and had plenty of ups and downs but we've made it through them all. We have an excellent relationship...she's about the closest thing to me these days. She's always there when I need her and she lets me vent when I need to as well. I don't know what I would have done without her these past few months. In October she moved to Baltimore, MD and I was nearly devistated...still am. I miss her terribly and all the things that we used to do. We talk online every chance that we get and occasionaly do the phone call thing. But no matter where she is, she's always going to be close to my heart and will prolly forever be my best friend.
Just recently we got to meet up with each other again over Memorial Day weekend and again in July for her b-day. It was kewl getting to see her again...although in May she was sick most of the weekend and July she made her mark in my car (so to speak), heh. It was good getting hugs!
Kathy and our other friend Carrie, ventured back to Pennsylvania!!! Believe that one...almost a year to the day that she moved to Baltimore, heh. They came up and spent my birthday/homecoming weekend here. We had some good laughs. Carrie's a trip and the 2 of them together is just dangerous sometimes! Thanks for the best b-day present, Kat!
Just got back from another visit with Kathy(and others). She never fails to amuse me any time we're together. It's amazing that I've known her through her 'phases', heh. And Carrie...well, what I said about them being dangerous in the previous paragraph still stands! Twas great seeing you Kat!! Keep in touch!
