Heather and I met purely by accident. My roommate had met Heather online while she was vacationing in Nevada, and when my roomie came home that calls from Heather started coming in. Heather called one day when the roommate was at work and we ended up talking for a little while. Later that evening Heather and I talked for 5 hours straight. We were hooked on each other. The phone calls came often.
Heather and I became very good friends within weeks, to the point where we had to meet each other. So after much discussing and talking, we decided that I would visit California for a weekend. So, the ticket was bought and on April 13th through the 15th, I was on my way to sunny Los Angeles, California. Pictures from the trip are at the bottom...
When I got home, there was this sense of loss. Seeing Heather in person and spending time with her was so much better than just talking to her on the phone. Heather and I remained close even though things were a bit weird at first. Heather has taken a new job with Pallotta Teamworks, which keeps her on the road a lot. We don't get to talk as often as we did in the beginning, but we still keep in touch as often as possible through email and phone calls.
One of the chatlines I am on, has a BBQ every Memorial Day and I invited Heather along. As luck would have it, she wasn't going to be on the road that weekend and flew in for 4 wonderful days of laughing, drinking and making new friends. The weekend went as fast as the one we'd spent together before, but I was glad that she was there. To see pictures from the BBQ go to my picture page.
Not knowing when I will see her again is tough, but we have email and phone calls to keep us going for now. Thanks for being such a great friend in such a short time, Heather. You mean so much to me and will always be in my heart. Hope to see you again soon, Baby! Don't work too hard!!
