The Battle Within
We�re in a battle it is forever
and always taking place,
God desiring our victory
while Satan vies for our disgrace.
Some days the battle is raging
we feel all torn apart,
while others we�re unaware
it�s so deep within our heart.
Some days we�re so weak and weary
it�s on God�s strength we stand,
while others we simply follow
the path He�s planned.
Some days the burden seems
more than we alone can bare,
then we call on Jesus
He�s always near.
Sometimes we fear our faith
is wearing thin,
we simply go to our Father
asking our faith be renewed again.
Sometimes our choices
aren�t exactly clear;
we seek God�s direction
awaiting His gentle voice to hear.
We can�t decide by feelings
or what others want us to do,
we have to be sure
it�s God�s perfect view.
Each of us has a purpose
God alone knows it best,
that is why we are each allowed
to go through certain tests.
Satan hopes we�ll fail while God
encourages us to persevere,
knowing the plans He has for us
and that success is near.
Perseverance forms character
a trait we must each possess,
if the plans God has for us
are to meet with success.
The Bible tells of the armor
we need to don each day,
when we come to the Heavenly Father
submissively to pray.
The battle within is raging
but victory is ours for sure,
if we but follow Jesus
and Satan�s wiles ignore.
