Safe In The Harbour
I, your loved one slipped away
Though you pleaded please don't go,
As you held me in your arms
Your love to show, that I would always know.
My beloved heart is spent, complete
With needing now to rest,
Pounded by the storms of life
God in His loving grace, my heart He seeks to bless.
I call, my dears, fret not my weathered ship
A-sailing for a while,
Jostled in the winds of life
And waves of trial, borne long on daily mile.
Celebrate my passage sailed long on stormy seas,
For I have made it through,
I have loved and cared for many years
While weeping for your loss, rejoice now for me too.
For God so knew the perfect time and place
That my course, He set, be done,
On completing all He had to ask
He called for me to come, for now my journey's run.
For you, it seems long winter pain,
For me to slip within the ground,
But spring alone has burst today
Oh hear the angel's sound, heaven's where I'm bound.
Onward now my spirit sails
Opened wide in lasting love,
You will be aching for my presence
But soaring on the wings of life, I'm here in heights above.
Turn, turn around oh see, the sweet and little ships
A-waiting on your shore,
Love them now out to life's bay
In memory of my love, and all the loving I lived for.

He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.
The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe. The rich man's wealth is his strong city, and as an high wall in his own conceit. ( Proverbs 18:9-11 )(KJV) |
