Mark Of Excellence
Is there something
God has called you to,
But you won't step up
And see it through?
Is something
Holding you back?
For, you, only,
See your lack.
Do you weigh the odds
And put them in a stack
Against your calling?
Do you see yourself
Failing and falling?
Oh, dear one, by Christ,
The battle is won.
Look to that place of grace,
Where God will show his face...
Where you can be
All he has called you to be.
By your actions,
Set someone free.
It may be for you to see.
Pick up the pieces.
In faith, he is the one
That increases us.
Focus on the Mark of excellence
Upon our Lord, Jesus,
And as he did for us.
Speak a word
In due season.
For, his calling
Will be the reason.
Be Bold, not Cold.
By your fear, be not sold,
Ignoring the word
That his promise has told.
Open your heart.
He will not depart.
Plant a seed to the spirit.
Those, that need to, hear it.
It will feed by the need.
HE will tell you what to do.
He will see you through.
He will make a way, as you pray.
So, even now, today,
Seek him in every way.
Focus on the mark of excellence,
In innocence and reverence.
By his commandments,
Not negligence, seek his presence.
In everything, bring glory
To our Lord, our King.
Let your heart sing
Upon the mountain top
And, there, do not stop.
In your own way,
Show who Christ is, today.
For, what he has done for you
He will do for others, too.
For, he has not changed.
He is the same yesterday,
Today, and tomorrow.
He will deliver those
From pain and sorrow.
Aim for the mark of excellence
And not only once,
But twice, maybe
Three times, or four.
It matters not.
God will keep the score
And show you more.
Reach for the mark of Excellence.
Make a difference.
