How Do You Pray?
Do you pray for your Pastor each day?
Do you pray for his marriage to stay sweet and pure �
That he will stay free from temptation�s allure?
Do you pray he�ll have time for the study he needs
To give forth God�s Word, and to plant precious seeds?
Oh, how much he needs earnest prayer!
Do you pray for your church every day?
Do you pray that the tempter won�t gain a foot-hold,
But all the church members will stay true and bold,
Defending the truth with honor and zeal,
While showing the world a faith that is real?
Oh, how much your church needs your prayer!
Do you pray for your President each day?
Do you pray that the Lord will take hold of his hand,
And give him the wisdom to lead this great land?
Do you pray for his safety, and strength from Above,
To govern this land with compassion and love?
Oh, how much your President needs prayer!
Do you pray for your country each day?
The freedoms you cherish may soon slip away,
Unless all God�s people will earnestly pray,
And seek God�s forgiveness for all of the sin,
That spreads like a canker, devouring within.
Oh, how much your country needs prayer!
Do you pray for your family each day?
Do you pray for your children, and grandchildren too,
That they�ll put the Lord first in all that they do?
Do you pray they will strive to stay true to His Name,
Believing His Word till the victory they claim?
Oh, how much your family needs prayer!
Do you pray for God�s leading each day?
Do you seek Godly counsel in things large and small,
And pray you�ll be ready to answer His call?
Do you pray that your life will be faithful and true,
Inspiring the lost to accept Jesus too?
Oh, how much we all need constant prayer!
