He's Alive

My heart aches within my chest,
My eyes sting with tears of shame,
As I watch my Savior's death.
As I watch, I know I'm to blame.

When the women go to his tomb,
There to bid him their goodbyes,
To their shock there sits an angel;
The light so bright they hide their eyes.

The one you seek no longer lies here.
Why look for him among the dead?
He told you all. He tried to be clear.
If you'll only believe, you've not to dread.

So, go, now; run and tell your brothers.
Tell them all 'the Lord does live'.
Watch and wait. He, soon, will greet you.
Wait and receive the gift he'll give.

( 13 ) - - But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
( 14 ) - - For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
( 15 ) - - For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. ( 1 Thessalonians 4:13-15 )(KJV) |
