God’s Pleasure
God feels pleasure when
His servants prosper abundantly,
Yet it’s just a peek
Of what’s in store eternally.
God finds pleasure
In our accomplishments,
Why He even finds pleasure
In our imperfect attempts.
It is God who gives us
A desire to attempt or try,
And it is His to help us
Succeed, curb, or deny.
God has a destiny in mind
For each and every man,
And takes great pleasure
As we accept His plan.
It gives God pleasure when we
Begin our days in prayer,
Surrendering completely
To His loving care.
Seeking His will be done
In every area of our lives,
Covering ourselves in
Jesus’ blood to survive.
It gives God pleasure as we
Recognize our deficiencies,
Seeking intervention
On bended knees.
It gives God pleasure
When we put others first,
Providing for them before
Quenching our own thirsts.
It gives God pleasure
To see each of us grow,
As we share with the lost
So they too can know.
It gives God pleasure
Each day of our lives,
When we recognize it is
Thanks to Him that we survive!
