Follow The Lord's Example
The Lord has given us an example
revealing how we should walk through life,
for Jesus also walked among men,
He willingly laid down His life, as the supreme sacrifice.
In humility to the Father
He always obeyed God's will,
Jesus gave us an example
our hearts with truth, He fills.
He sought not His own way
but that of our God above,
Jesus was in the Father
and, the Father in Him, showed forth true love.
He healed the sick and opened blinded eyes
raised the dead and set souls free,
Jesus shed His precious blood on Calvary
that souls might be free, yes free, indeed.
Jesus doesn't ask us to sacrifice our life
nor can we take credit when we see souls set free,
we must take up our cross each day and follow Him,
He's given us power to witness and live in victory.
Our Savior's example was one of obedience
with a heart of compassion and love,
if we follow His example and obey the Lord,
one day we shall dwell with God, in heaven above.
