Book Of Remembrance

Then, they that feared the Lord spake often one to another; and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon His name.
( Malachi 3: 16 )

We see many prophecies in God's Word which have not yet been fulfilled. These will come to pass in the Day of the Lord. The faithful remnant will be prepared, as will all those who know and fear the Lord, to think upon His name. Those who seek God first, have the assurance of God providing for them, as He keeps them in His care. God sees and hears those who fear Him and think upon His holy name.

We see conversations of reverence are looked upon by the Lord, remembered, as recorded words in his Book of Remembrance. We know there will be a believer's judgment of works. The Book of Remembrance will contain good words and thoughts, which the Lord desired to be spoken and which honored Him. Every idle thought and word will also be remembered. Many will suffer loss of reward in the judgment of works, but the faithful shall inherit all the promises of the Lord.

The people who are the faithful remnant, spoken of in these Scriptures, shall belong to the Lord in that day when he makes up his jewels. He will spare them as a man sparing his own son that serves him. There will be a regathering of Israel from the north, south, east, and west, where they have been scattered among the Nations. Even today, many are returning to their homeland and beloved Nation. Israel will be able to discern in the day of the Lord between those who serve God, and those who do not serve Him, or the difference between the righteous and wicked. The Lord will set his hand, a second time, to recover the remnant of his people.

There is a great day coming when there will be true peace. Before that day, there will be a false peace. We know when they shall declare, "peace, peace.... sudden destruction shall come in like a flood" as the nations gather to do battle against Israel. The Lord himself shall intervene at the appointed time and day, to bring judgment and put down the enemy. Righteousness shall reign in the end as our victorious Lord fights the battle, as Lord of all. He has already won the war.

May we be as those seen in the Book of Malachi, who were worthy of having words and conversations, in a book of remembrance. Many people on earth only remember the deeds of Christians while they were sinners, not seeing or recognizing those following the Lord, or good deeds while in his service. Truth sets free. We are to speak the truth out of a heart of love, as we pray one for another.

God looks upon His new creations, created in his image with His attributes, and sees all things made new. He does not look upon men, as people look upon one another. He remembers the former things no more, but is shown as having a Book of Remembrance of words of truth which pleases him. We are to seek to please God and not man, and will be rewarded when we walk according to his will. God's words and judgment count for all eternity. We have been bought with a price and are valued by the Lord.

David, the Psalmist, knew that no matter where he went, the Lord's presence was there, if he walked with the Spirit of the Lord leading him. David said, "if I take the wings of the morning, or dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there, your hand will guide me. Your right hand will hold me fast.' It's good to know we can dwell at the Lord's right hand, and have fulness of joy, all the days of our life, when we abide in Him. God's right hand will hold us fast, just as He held David, who was a man after God's own heart. Pleasures of God and true joy will be ours when we recognize the nearness of God's presence, and abide in Him every hour.

As we think upon the coming Day of the Lord, may we worship Him this day in spirit and in truth. In doing so, we can be assured we have the Lord's favor and grace. He is an "Awesme Father" to His children. May He be glorified today and always, as we remember His great love and sacrifice for our salvation. He must be first in our lives, as we make Him Savior and Lord of all! Jesus is calling souls home today, to abide and live in His love, forevermore.

Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God. Then answered the Jews, and said unto him, Say we not well that thou art a Samaritan, and hast a devil?
( John 8:46-48 )(KJV)
