Our Father

When Jesus was asked, Teach us to pray
He began, Our Father who is in Heaven
Hallowed be Your name......

You know the rest of the prayer
Let it run through your mind and notice
The plural pronouns
"Our", "us" and "we"

Powerful little words!

With just one of those little words
Our Jesus started a revolution
In all the heavenly realms
As well as on earth
He took all of humanity into Himself
And declared Himself one of us
By praying, our Father

We say, yes, Jesus was God in human flesh
But seldom personalize this awesome reality
We are the humanity Jesus became

Christ became you and me
And when He intercedes for us
He stands before His Father as us!

He doesnt pray as a neutral, middle-man
Just a go-between
He takes us within Himself
Absorbs our sin and death
And transforms it all into
His new resurrection life
Making us one with Himself

He doesnt have to drag us before God
Apologize for us
And beg Him to forgive us
He brings us into our Fathers presence
To present us to Him
As His new creation child

The church is so focused on trying
To be Christ-like
Not knowing He came to be us
We want union with Him not knowing
He is us
And we are Him

The biggest blinder that keeps us
From seeing this truth
Is when we withhold forgiveness
Denying an offender the grace weve been given

Jesus took upon Himself our sin
Absorbed the cost and took all our sin
And pain into Himself
Then transformed our sin and death into the very
Holy, eternal life of God

Creating a whole new breed of humanity!

Now, we must do the same
Absorb the cost of pain and grief from our offenders
As well as those whom our Father lays on our hearts
To suffer with
And to give to them
The same new life Hes given us

We must take them into our heart to the degree
We become one with those who suffer
Saint and sinner alike
And pray
Forgive us our sins

Knowing, trusting
The holy life of Christ within us
Is a greater power than sin

Knowing sin is not just covered or washed away but
Transformed into the greater power of
Righteousness
And death is swallowed up into eternal Life
Himself!

[ 1 ] - Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven.
[ 2 ] - Therefore when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
[ 3 ] - But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth:
[ 4 ] - That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly.
[ 5 ] - And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
[ 6 ] - But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
[ 7 ] - But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
[ 8 ] - Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.
[ 9 ] - After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
[ 10 ] - Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
[ 11 ] - Give us this day our daily bread.
[ 12 ] - And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
[ 13 ] - And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
[ 14 ] - For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:
[ 15 ] - But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

( Matthew 6:1-15 )(KJV)
