Remembering Our Veterans
Some Gave All -- All Gave Some

Blessed is the nation whose God
is the Lord.....

( Psalm 33: 12 )
********************

We remember those on Veteran's Day who have served our Country in any capacity.

We also take time out for a moment of prayer for our Nation, our President, lawmakers and all in active duty or reserves, across this land, as well as their families.

May we always remember our soldiers and country in prayer, especially in this time of wars and rumors of wars.

November 11th is the Day set aside as a very important holiday to observe Veteran's Day in this country. In 1954, President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed a bill into law for this day to be in honor of our country's veterans.

This day was formerly called 'Armistice day' as President Woodrow Wilson had proclaimed it as such in 1919, and it became a national holiday in 1938.

On Veteran's Day, our Country has many patriotic speeches, parades, and other observances in honor of those who served in the Armed Forces. Many lost their lives, and many have the scars of battle or memories of time spent in service for our Country.

Thousands are buried in Arlington National Cemetery outside Washington, D. C., and other cemeteries, who gave their lives in time of battle. These, as the unknown soldier, are gone, but not forgotten.

Veteran's Day is the day we set aside in remembrance of all who gave willingly to protect the freedom of their Country. We give thanks for these as we remember, and also those who are serving today.

We have seen wars and battles since Bible days. Even in Old Testament days , the Lord told his people to go in and possess the land. He had given them the land, but it was up to them to go in and drive out the enemy as God went before them. They fought for their freedom and what had been given them by the Lord. These Saints of old were in a battle against the forces of evil, and many of these lost their lives, but gained a far better country.

When we read Hebrews 11, we see the heroes of the faith and how they endured by seeing what the Lord had prepared for those who believed in Him. We also remember these as examples, and know if we fight the good fight of faith, we also shall enter into all the promises of the Lord and eternal rest. We are in the greatest Army of all and have been given mighty weapons of warfare and the whole armor of God.

In this day of terrorist threats, wars, and rumors of war, there is still hope in God. He promised never to leave us or forsake us. Blessed is a Nation whose God is the Lord. As we join in prayer for our Nation and all across this world, may we remember the price paid for our freedom.

Many gave all.....all gave some, and there are those today still willing to serve their Country for the sake of freedom. We know not what the future holds for our Country, but we do know who holds the future. In Him, we can be secure, as He will be with us always.

Our Lord gave His all that we might have everything. He willingly laid down His life that we might have a new life and take up our cross daily to follow Him. We are soldiers in the Army of our Lord and have a Commander-In-Chief who goes before us every day to lead us in victory. In the good fight of faith, we have a promise of a crown of life and a better country awaiting. We must endure as a good soldier of the cross. Take time out to say a prayer for our Country, leaders, lawmakers, also those in service both at home and in foreign lands. We remember the fallen, their families, and friends today; and give thanks for those who serve their country.

We also pray that we, as Christians, might see the admonition of our Lord in 2 Chronicles 7: 14, as He promises... "if my people which are called by my name, shall humble themselves and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven; and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

This whole world needs the prayers of God's people that all might come to know and trust in Him. He has called each one into active duty but many have not heeded the call. May we seek to share and care for every soul who has not answered the call of the Lord. He will bless and hear our every prayer. Our Lord guards the course of the just and protects the way of His faithful ones.

Blessings In Christ,

Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up. For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee.
( Psalm 5:2-4 )(KJV)
