God's Forever Word
When I was just a small child
I heard my Mother say,
"God's Word will abide forever,
Jesus hears you when you pray."
The seasons of the years
will always come and go,
God's Word remains the same
in heaven and earth below.
The flowers of the field
still bloom and then decay
but the Word of God forever stands
all along life's narrow way.
The trees shed their leaves
as they turn from green to gold,
God's word will never change
it is food for a hungry soul.
Let His hidden manna
sent from up above
strengthen and uplift you
as God fills you with His love.
