Forever Near
For many years I wandered
Heard His voice, Oh so sweet
My dear child, I love you
Lay your burdens at my feet
But I did not obey Him
I thought that I knew best
Still His voice would whisper
"My child, I'll give you rest"
As the years went by, it came to me
What I had always known
That Christ my Savior loved me true
And never left me alone
Now in the twilight of my years
His loving voice I still hear
But now, Praise God, it's different
Forever He holds me near
