Daily Surrender
I awoke this morning
And assumedly went about the day,
Not even hesitating
Not even taking a moment to pray.
Havoc set in at once
Things went wrong right from the start,
But do you think I was wise enough
To kneel and surrender my heart.
I just kept on stumbling
Doing everything completely wrong,
My heart did not contain a melody
Not even the Title of a song.
Everyone else I bumped into
Seemed to be having problems too,
We were all effected in negative ways
No matter what we'd do.
Usually people are smiling at me
No matter where I happen to be,
I neverstopped to ponder
That perhaps the smiles began in me.
If you are not right with God
As you begin the day,
Everything you encounter
Appears in a totally different way.
Father I am so sorry I neglected
To surrender at the start of today,
Please remind me daily that things
Don't work right when I forget to pray.
I am not happy when my heart
Is not in tune with you,
So please remind me daily
Surrendering is the first thing I must do!

Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive thy people which have sinned against thee. Now, my God, let, I beseech thee, thine eyes be open, and let thine ears be attent unto the prayer that is made in this place. Now therefore arise, O LORD God, into thy resting place, thou, and the ark of thy strength: let thy priests, O LORD God, be clothed with salvation, and let thy saints rejoice in goodness.
