This Great God Who We Come And Ask
If we only come into the Lord's presence each time
for the purpose of getting answers to prayer,
Then sooner or later we'll become disillusioned
by the things that take place while we're there.
For the real purpose of prayer was never meant to be
only a question & answer session to record.
Because Jesus is the Master... the Father is sovereign
and His ways prove that He is the Lord.
Whether or not we even know it at the start
we have a need to be daily re-aligned.
And we need the balance of simply seeking His majesty
for our human and frail little minds.
Prayer was meant for worship and adoration of the King
who Himself prayed while he was on earth.
Jesus took time alone just to pray to the Father
because Jesus knew what prayer was worth.
While there will be times when God answers our prayers
and sends the great answers we request.
We also know He often sends something different
and we wind up being spiritually blessed.
Some answers to prayer take a lifetime to realize
because only God could complete such a task.
So let our focus rather be the true privilege of even knowing
this great God who we come and ask.

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.
( Isaiah 55:8-9 )(KJV)
From The Prayer Of Jesus Prior to His Crucifixion
Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world. O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.
( John 17:24-26 )(KJV)
Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer. O ye sons of men, how long will ye turn my glory into shame? how long will ye love vanity, and seek after leasing? Selah. But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.
( Psalm 4:1-3 )(KJV) |
