I'm going to shine
with a light from my Lord
He touched my soul,
and like the eagle, I am able to soar
He said, "Let go of your troubles
and all of your pain,
My child, for when you will do this,
all of eternal life you will gain"
Lord, the light you gave me
shall shine forever
Your loving me and caring about me
shall leave me never
You, Lord, have entrusted me
with the precious light
On this day and forever more,
I give you my heart and soul,
Lord, for this is my solemn plight
I'm going to shine
with a light from my Lord
