Oh, gentle Spirit,
How sweetly comest Thee,
With tender conviction
And glorious liberty ...
Singing the purest song
That clears this world's grime;
Refreshingly melodious,
Redeeming the time.
Oh, gentle Spirit,
On wings of The Dove,
In our ears quiet whisperings
Of Father's great love ...
Wooing the lost lambs
Who've wandered astray,
Back to The Shepherd's arms.
Ne'er leave us, we pray.
Teach us Thy Gentleness,
Gracious Spirit Divine;
That reflections of Jesus
Would, through us, always shine.
OH, breathe into us, Lord.
Cause our ears to hear it,
Your Word and Your Ways,
We pray, OH, GENTLE SPIRIT !
