What If?
What would you do
If He wasn't there,
If words were just words
Even when said in prayer?
Where would you go
When this life is over and done
And there is only the grave
Because there was no God or His Son?
What would you do if there was no hand
To pull us from the earth to the sky?
What would you do
If the end was just to die ...
And life held no purpose,
It was but a wisp of time too soon past,
And there is no God
On whom our cares are cast?
What if the one we followed
Was like us, someday to be turned to dust;
There was no power to the universe
And there was no one to put your trust?
What if He left us all alone
To do as we so please
And He wasn't there to hold us
And set our hearts to ease?
Imagine a world
Where He had gone away.
There was only eternal night
And there was never a sun filled day.
One would say that God is every where
And no place where He doesn't dwell.
O but, yes, there is, my friend.
It's a place called hell.
After this life is over
And eternity awaits your soul,
Will He welcome you to heaven
Or will you lift your eyes in sheol
And find He is not there?
