Poured Out

My heart poured out like water
Upon a parched dry land,
My spirit crushed and damaged
Beyond what I can stand ...
Though I bend and twist like a pretzel,
My hope evaporates.
For, there is no appeasement;
No solace while I wait.
And where can I go for answers?
Where do I find the strength?
I cannot fathom another act
Filled so with hate, to repeat.

How can I go on living,
Watching those I love suffer so?
Oh, Father, are You really watching?
We love You. But, we are so low!
Things I hold precious are held in a vice,
Hurting me; hurting them, too.
Please, tell me, Jesus, Im listening hard.
Tell me what I need to do.
For, I lay all my hope in Your promises true.
I try casting cares, but theyre back.
What is it, Lord, that I failing to do?
What is it that I lack?

Nothing appeases this monsters demands.
Nothing will soothe or console.
Assaults come now, at every turn;
Wounding us blow after blow!
Ultimate power this vice we're in,
No mercy to be found.
A hill comes to mind, up Calvarys way.
That is the way we are bound.
When Power is through and the game is done,
When the bones are all pulled apart;
When the beast has devoured and seemingly won,
Leaving fragments that once were a heart ...

There will come new life in the darkness
That will ultimately hold us up high
And the world will see it can kill us.
But, with Jesus, we never can die.
For, Hell hold us up tight, in His loving arms.
Hell throw off the cares of the world.
Though the demons search, with all of their might,
They will never find where they were hurled!
And the peace of the ages will flow through a land,
Beyond the most beautiful dream,
Our home for a timeless existence in love;
Living with our holy beloved King!

And he said, The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence. I will call on the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies. ( 2 Samuel 22:2-4 )(KJV) |
