The Waterfall
The colors of autumn are brilliant
With droppings of temperatures in the air,
A perfect time for a brisk walk in the forest
And see nature's beauty everywhere.
The leaves have changed their colors
From green to red, purple, brown, and gold,
It's truly a breathtaking wonder
With squirrels prancing about so bold.
 
I can hear acorns falling to the ground
Leaves crunching beneath my feet,
Only God could create a world so perfect
With changes, and seasons so complete.
While approaching the last steps of the trail
Here amidst the trees so strong and tall,
I can see all around, beauty at it's best,
It's the splashing of the mighty waterfall.
I gaze at the sparkling water ever so clear
And watch the ripples run on downstream,
Over and around the rocks, out of sight,
It's beauty and splendor, is like being in a dream.
