Please, Father...
Every father knows the feeling,
How we love to tell them "yes".
But, I wonder how I AM
Had to offer Jesus less.
Jesus asked for the removal
Of the awful task at hand.
But, He also said, in earnest,
" Father. not My will ~ Your plan."
If there had been another way
For God to reach and rescue man,
Sure, He would have said to Jesus,
"Skip right on to Glory land!"
And, my friend, if He had done it,
Think what trouble there would be!
For, each soul will live forever;
In great distress or glory - free!
So, He walked the Dolorosa
(Mocked and beaten, shunned and scorned)
While the little band that loved Him
Wept and feared; trembled ~ mourned.
Once inside the gates of Splendor,
I�ll not stop until I�ve found
Scars of nail prints born by Jesus;
Scars by Love�s decision bound!
