Gymnastics

I LOVE GYMNASTICS. yes it is the best. why watch people falling on the ground in football, or jumping up and down in basketball, when you can watch the grace and perfection of gymnastics????? below is what i wrote about gymnastics before, so u will know why i have a sudden change of capitalizing my letters, which i am normally too lazy to do, and correct punctuation and that stuff. :)

Gymnastics. Its a sport we all know about. We all know about how amazingly flexible people balance on beams and do flips on bars. Its a sport of grace and perfection, practice and agility. Its what we watch on TV during the summer Olympics. What most of us dont know is where and how gymnastics started. Gymnastics was not originally made to look graceful. In fact, it was used by the Greeks to prepare for war, a long time ago. Doing gymnastics increases your flexibility and builds up muscles, as well as making you more graceful and more agile. It also makes your sense of balance better. With all these benefits, why wouldnt the Greeks want to use this to beat up their enemies?

The word gymnastics has a history, too. It was also made by the Greeks. Gymnastics means to exercise without clothes, strange as it may sound. Back when the Greeks used gymnastics for war, they would exercise without clothes, just like they would fight without clothes.

Right now, gymnastics arent used for war, but for enjoyment and for exercise.

There are a few kinds of gymnastics. There is the floor routine, the balance beam, parallel bars, uneven parallel bars, and rings. Usually, only the men use rings. Almost everyone does floor routine when they start out. Floor routine is when people do gymnastics on mats on the floor, such as doing cartwheels, the splits, or a handstand. After learning floor routine, most people go on to the balance beam, which is the same thing except on a 6-inch beam. Parallel bars are two bars the same height about a foot and a half apart on which people exercise on without touching the ground. Uneven parallel bars are two parallel bars of different heights. Rings are two rings the gymnast holds on to, above the ground. These are the kinds of gymnastics you can do.

Next time you see gymnastics on TV, youll know what kind it is and how gymnastics originated!
