| The 1972 F100 chassis was not designed with performance tuning in mind. The twin I beam suspension had to go. In went a Fat Man Fabracations MKII stage II front suspension. This allows tuning of the front other then toe, larger disk brakes then a factory swap will give you and rack & pinion power steering. They also claim 2-3" drop with no mods. And with polished stainless steel upper and lower control arms it looks real cool to. |
| Then we went to the rear suspension. I was thinking a 4 link but decided to use what I had to get the job done. I reversed the front spring shakels rising it 2" above frame, just enough to clear the bottom of the bed. I also moved the rear shackel back about 3" and also up to allow a 2" clearance for the bed again. I also removed all but the two large leafs, this brought the truck down quite a bit but without a loaded chassis I don't know how low yet. But I can get another 3" by reversing the axle on the spring. Next is the air bags mounts. |
