My pictures from different provinces of Sweden

In october 2001 I started to categorise my paintings and drawings by different provinces of Sweden so you can see how my country looks like.
As I live in the south of our country I have found most of the motives for my paintings in Skåne and Småland. Welcome to my page with my 64 paintings from Perstorp, the village where I live and its surroundings.
I have also many drawings from Gothenburg at the west coast where I lived for 15 years.

I will upload more paintings later on. I have taken thousands of photos in Sweden during our summer vacations so I will have motives for several years forward!

Sitasjaure 1970
My sister and I went to Lappland i July for about a week with a group of about ten women and a young man. It was led by a man from STF, the Swedish Tourist Association. We went by train, bus, boat and feet. Here we are about to start the 20 km walk to Skjombotn in Norway. It was nice weather and +5 Celsius.
The day before we got wet through and our boots and trousers were full of clay. But our clothes got dry during the night in the Sitasjaure cabin.

At his job in Scane they said: "Strange colours!" They could not realise that the autumna could be like that, but it can!

Medelpad

Highland cattle in Sundsvall, Norra Stadsberget, 1991.

We also went to Sundsvall for a conference in 2001, and I took some photos of the marvellous ice outside the houses in early spring, when the weather quickly change between sunny warm days and frost.

When Sara and I visited Alvesta on a half-a-day tour in 2000 we took a break and of course I got exited when I reached this old factory with its fantastic walls of (slagg) from the (masugn)!

Värmland

Sunrise Lake Racken
My family visited the Racken Museum in August 1997.
We tried to sleep in the car for some hours and had the opportunity to see this marvellous sunrise at 4 o´clock in the morning.
Lake Racken outside the town Arvika is famous for the artists "Rackenmålarna" who lived here for several years, Gustaf Fjaestad and his family and friends.

Lake Fryken
As I lived in Värmland from the age of 3½ to 12 i have a lot of good memories from this province, especially from the village Torsby at the north end of lake Fryken.

Värmland has given me my love for forrests, lakes and of course snow.

Sveafallen
In Degefors you can walk around the stony ground where the stream Sveafallen once went from the Baltic See to the Atlantic ocean. But this was not the only way as scientists say today.

Västmanland

Between the ten floors houses built 1955-60 there are a lot of space with trees.

Björnön in lake Mälaren.
You can go to this little island just a few kilometers from Västerås by bike or car. It is a popular recreation area where you can walk, run, bathe, surf, ski (if there is snow) or just relax.
In summer you can also go by boat.

A tiny waterfall
There are some thrilling rocky waterfalls at the steep slopes of Billingen. But in summartime there is nearly no water at all.

Tiveden
Tiveden between Närke and Västergötland is a national park.

Putsegårdsgatan
Hisingen, Gothenburg in 1966.
This was the view from my room during my firts two years at Chalmers University of Technology.
I had no camera these days so I´m happy that I took time to draw and paint some pictures from my window.

Skansen Kronan Gothenburg in Sept. 1999. The walls of this old defense tower has been repaired. Inside these stone walls you will find a museum.

Lake Vättern
A memory from my first visit in the ruin of Brahehus and the view of the southeast side of the lake in Småland (Road E4 between Jönköping and Mjölby passing Gränna).
When I was young you could see this fascinating ruin as a light in the dark forest up in the mountain.

In the stream there is today one mill left.

This stone seems to have been used in a smaller mill.

From Perstorp you can go in any direction by bike and you will find beech woods with a lot of small lakes or open landscapes.
