My first selfportrait in 1950, when I was 5.
Our father
tried to learn my 3 years older sister and me how to ride a bike.
My sister made a drawing and I tried to do nearly the same.
The place where we were training was the road between the church of Fryksände
in Torsby, Värmland, and the cementary.

As I remember this is my first attempt to draw my own face or a real person
at all.
Oh, no, I draw and painted two of my classmate´s portraits when
I was 10 or 11!
Kjell Wass and Sune Ottosson in Torsby to be exact.

I also made a sketch of my foot.
Depression
in 1969. I think many people will recognise themselves in my selfportrait
today.
It was ment to be just a face, but I remember how I felt these days, and
it is really a selfportrait.
The two last years we had been very busy at school. Under long periods
we had been working through the whole night twice a week.
I got medicin and allowed me to take one year extra for my exam, and soon
I felt better and could work even harder.
