PROJECTS COMPLETED at places of employment
Main Projects completed at “McKesson Medical Imaging”
· Qualification of HP, DELL and IBM servers
Details: Performed qualification of HP,
DELL and IBM servers for use with Horizon Radiology Manager McKesson software.
The first step of this process is to embed the specific RAID controller and
chassis drivers into the Windows 2000 Server build CD used in the “Production
Department”. The second step is to check the installation of certain Microsoft
OS patches (the application doesn’t work with certain patches). The third step
is to check the installation and performance of the hardware with the
application installed. The application is based on Oracle 9.2, WebLogic, Java
servelets, IIS and
· Qualification of Adaptec SNAP server
Details: Performed qualification of Adaptec SNAP 210 server to be used as online backup NAS solution. The server has been tested in different network infrastructure scenarios (NT4 domain, 2000 domain, with/without DHCP). The previous attempts to qualify SANP server haven’t been successful due to loosing of file access. Analysing showed that it is due to the automatic Domain SID mapping mechanism of the SNAP server. The solution is to use access permitions set up with Local users and groups and them manually map statically the corresponding domain ones.
Main Projects completed at “Alea Software”
· Deployment of WSUS
Details: Deployed Windows Software Update Services WSUS 2.0 at different levels as stated below for “ESI Entertainment Systems Inc.” with minor differences.
· Deployment of MS Office
Details: Deployed MS Office 2003 suite using preconfigured settings file (.mst) and administrative installation point. By this way when a computer is joined to the OU where the policy is applied the installation begins before the login screen and each is logging in will have his Outlook already set up and other specific settings as well. When an application file needed or is corrupted the system will fix it by itself using the IntelliMirror technology (the installation keeps a database with the files and checks for integrity using the administrative point). In general it is preferable a system to be deployed using the installation process than imaging technologies. An fully automated process is possible with Microsoft products only (RIS server, post installation scripts, WSUS, IntelliMirror).
· Exchange Cluster tune up
Details: Analyzed the Exchange 2003 Cluster. The virtual server is connected to a front-end server. Even dough the servers has enough hardware resources there was a significant performance downgrade. The proposed solution was to change the system settings to be ware of 4GB memory existence (otherwise it is not in use), to reconfigure certain settings that are conflicting each other, to move the log files to a separate RAID1 disk subsystem, to use ESEINTEG and ESEUTIL tool to defragment the database.
· Wireless network tune up
Details: Analyzed and fixed connectivity and performance issues related to the client settings like “Roaming Aggressiveness” and some power settings. Tue users were loosing connectivity when moving within the building.
Main Projects completed at “ESI Entertainment Systems Inc.”
· Deployment of WSUS
Details: Deployed Windows Software Update Services WSUS 2.0 at different levels:
Level 1 is fully customizable by the user (designated for programmers). At this level the user is alerted daily and can choose witch updates to install.
Level 2 is fully customizable for the Administrators only and invisible for the users (no alerts). It is designated for users with specific software that might be affected by updates (call centre users). Users can’t use Microsoft Updates site to do manual updates.
Level 3 is fully customizable. Downloads and automatic restarts are disabled. It is designated for server use where an administrator manually performs update using WSUS or Microsoft Updates site. All installed, required, failed updates are registered in the WSUS database.
· Deployment of automatic defragmentation
Details: Deployed a script using group policy witch creates a scheduled task under SYSTEM account to perform evening cleanup and defragmentation. Fragmentation became a main performance factor during two years.
· Deployment of policy to set up the file permitions
Details: Deployed a group policy witch is using a descriptive file (editable with text editor). The policy is automatically applied each 5 min and actually resets the permitions for the specified folders and files. This is a security measure and initially was used to set up file permitions to allow editing only to a certain user and reading simultaneously of more users.
· ArcServe backups for Exchange Server tune up.
Details: Analyzed and fixed issues with Exchange Server differential backups. The differential backup was performing actually full backup witch was due to the logging mode of Exchange.
· Deployment of Blackberry Server for Exchange
Details: Participated in deployment a Blackberry Server 4.0 installed on a separate Exchange Server. Rogers Wireless supplied the connectivity between the Blackberry devices and the server. The setting of the Blackberries are automatically deployed with policy witch allows a user customisation too.
Design and deployment of Network Infrastructure at “DSK Garancia” Life Insurance Company
Details: Deployed specific IBM Software. Configured Ethernet and Fiber Channel Switches and adapters; the IBM Total Storage FC Disk Storage and Ultrium FC Library. Configured one Windows 2003 Server as router and VPN server in connection with Internet Security & Acceleration Server 2004. Configured one Windows 2003 Server as IIS and “Smart Host” Forwarder at DSK Bank DMZ (Front-end Exchange Server as alternative). Connected the Exchange 2003 Server to the Forwarder to securely retrieve the messages for its ETRN domain or relay the outbound e-mail at specified times. The connection to DSK Bank Data Centre is optical. All the bank branch offices are uploading data to the database servers. Configured four Windows 2003 Severs with Oracle 10g Application and 9i Database Server. Used Automatic Deployment and configuration of Office 2003 (Administrative Point) and Software Update services.
Design and deployment of Network Infrastructure at “Ellatzite Med” AD
Details: Made Hardware and Software selection. Deployed Specific IBM Software. Configured Virtual LAN adapters (smart failover and load balance by tagging a few 1000Mb cards), IBM Director (Hardware monitoring and fail prediction), RAID5 and RAID5E. Configured Exchange and Database Servers. Deployed Automatic Deployment of Windows XP Pro by means of Remote Installation Services. Configured Windows 2000 Servers as routers and VPN servers (Secured VPN Tunnels from Router to Router) and Internet Security & Acceleration Server 2000 (Exchange and ISA are on the same server). Secured IIS and “Smart Host” Forwarder on one DMZ server at ISP. Connected Exchange 2000 Server to the “Smart Host” by SMTP connector to securely retrieve the inbound or relay the outbound corporate e-mail at specified times. The connection to ISP is dial-up MPP – 2 BRI channels (4 ISDN dynamic lines). Deployed Active Directory integrated Certificate Authority and Automatic Key Distribution to Outlook clients for electronic signing. Configured SSL Web Outlook Access connections. Configured Reverse DNS resolving to identify the senders, Antispam and e-mail Antivirus services of CA e-Trust. Deployed Two Oracle9i Application servers, that replicate selected tables trough dedicated 2Mb line in addition to 1,5Mb line (-10channels for PBX). Deployed Active Directory Group Policies for controlling the networked systems, file permissions, auditing and software distribution. Automated the administrative tasks using command script backups for the Oracle databases and OS-s. Used Veritas Backup Solution.
Migration and restructure of Lirex BG office network to Windows 2000
· Aug 2000 – Dec 2000
Details: Made Clean Installation of new root Windows 2000 server and domain in native mode as a pilot one. Migrated users, groups and computers by cloning of old SID-s to new ones and used SID History without changes in the old NT domain. Access to the NT domain and its resources through the new domain remains. Moved data and user directories from NT4 PDC without loosing of ownership and permissions by means of the new features of Windows 2000. Moved mailboxes from Exchange 5.5 (with changed organization name) to Exchange 2000 by Active Directory Connector. Made Clean Installation (after format) of Advanced Server and Terminal Services in application mode on a released NT (PDC) server and moved the data to its disks. Setup of a new MS SQL 2000 Enterprise Server. All have been done without stopping the normal working process. Restructured Trusted remote domains to Windows 2000 domain controllers of the root domain and configured as bridgeheads and Global Catalog servers for their sites whit reconfigured site replication.
Windows NT Domain Structure for Regional Fire Services in Region Vratza.
· Used : Windows NT 4.0 Server & Workstation, Windows 3x/95/98
Details: Deployed One Master Domain, trusted from Resource Domains (in each town) and Remote Computers, that are using Remote Access Service. Established Trust Relationships between Domains by using of static dial-up routing (without hardware routers between RAS server’s LAN and RAS client’s LAN. There is a leased connection to passport services of Ministry of Interior too. The Ministry is using a Domain Structure too for all country with hardware routers.
Computer Warehouse for Implementing and Service
· Used : MS FoxPro for DOS on Novell NetWare Server
Details: Upgraded a network relational database system for warehouse of electronic parts – information, incoming & outgoing parts, extension payment, auto accountant tools, values in three actual (in dependence from bank course) currencies, invoices. It is a hand wrote program. FoxPro has generated the executable application.
Program for “Airport -
· Feb 1990 – May 1990
Details: Developed strongly tested program for decoding of meteorological code METAR. Information from automatic meteorological system VAISALA (installed on the airport runway) was kept in small “*.TXT” files created every 30 minutes. Information was from 4 years before and was not appropriate for computer statistics. It was very difficult problem to recognise information in always-different specific groups of numbers and letters and these groups can be in existence or not. I have used my-own method - something like artificial intellect.
