A student's tryst with destiny starts here, the Registrar's office named after the great Sri Cattamanchi Ramalinga Reddy, the second vice-chancellor of the University. Educated in England, he was a renowned scholar in both English and Telugu and a captivating speaker with a sense of humor. As the story goes, during his student days in Cambridge, where the students were given tutorials on different topics and were expected to read out their prepared notes, once he did not prepare any notes. When his turn came he spoke for more than 45 minutes and the professor who looked for his prepared notes was surprised to realize that it was all extempore! Such was his oratorical prowess. Equally scholarly in Telugu, he has many books to his credit. The sight of the great scholar's bust brings to mind many such stories about him. Registrar's office is the first place where one comes to pay the fees as well as submit the certificates before getting admission into the seat of learning. It is also the last place to pay the dues and collect certificates before saying good-bye to campus life and friends with a heavy heart and move to a different life.
