The Psalmist's Corner
Jesus told us that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. It would also be true that the songs we sing are an honest reflection of our hearts.
These are the lyrics to a few of the songs the Lord has blessed me with.
To A Friend
Life is a precious thing
Love too dear to abuse
When the windows are open
When visions are clear
Hope mounts the horizon
Chasing away our fear
Falling on our spirits now
Something born so dear
Life is more precious
Love alive and more real
Looking through an open window
Seeing with vision more clear
All things made more perfect
As the petals are left to bloom
Unforced by human emotion
And dressed in seasons of time
And dressed in seasons of time

The Secret Place
From Psalm 91
In the quiet of the secret place
Lord I seek your face
Abiding in your shadow
My God in whom I trust
My God in whom I trust
Surely you deliver me
From the pestilence and storm
Truth shall be my buckler
Your truth shall make me strong
You set your love on me
Because you know my name
You call and I will answer
I will not be afraid
In the quiet of the secret place
Lord I seek your face
Abiding in your shadow
My God in whom I trust
My God in whom I trust

Oh See What He Can Do
From Psalm 78:12-16
Marvelous things he has done
In the sight of our fathers
In the land of Egypt
In the field of Sloan
Jehovah parted the sea
And caused them to pass through
Made the waters stand in a heap
O see what he can do
O see what he can do
By day he led by the cloud
By night a pillar of fire
Split the rock and gave them drink
O see what he can do
O see what he can do
Jehovah
Jehovah
Jehovah is the Lord
Jehovah is the Lord

Be Exalted O God
From Psalm 57
Be exalted O God above the heavens
Let your glory fill all the earth
Be exalted O God above the heavens
Let your glory fill all the earth
I will praise you O Lord among the people
I will sing and give you praise
For your mercy reaches unto the heavens
And your truth unto the earth
Awake my glory
Awake song and harp
Awake my glory
I will praise the Lord

We Seek You Lord
From Psalm 27:7-8
Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice! Have mercy also upon me, and answer me. When you said, "Seek my face," my heart said to you, "Your face, Lord, will I seek."
We seek you Lord
We seek your face
To know your love
Know your saving grace
We seek you now
With our voices raised
We seek you Lord
With hearts filled with praise
With hearts filled with praise
With hearts filled with praise
With hearts filled with praise

Hear Me When I Call
Lord hear me when I call
Tear down oppositions walls
I want to touch your hand
And look upon your face
Lord hear me when I call
I want to see you riding on the clouds
See you part the raging sea
I want to see your glory on the land
Casting down our enemy
I want to see the loaves and fishes
Multiplied in our day
See you healing broken bodies
While you fill these jars of clay
Except the Lord build the house
We labor in vain
And live for disappointment
Anguish and pain
Lord hear me when I call
Tear down oppositions walls
I want to touch your hand
And look upon your face
Lord hear me when I call

Jesus, You're Everything To Me
Jesus, Jesus
You are the King of kings
Jesus, Jesus
You're everything to me
You came unto your own
They turned you away
And opened the door for me
Salvation full and free
From your heart to mine
Jesus you're everything to me
Jesus, Jesus
You are the King of kings
Jesus, Jesus
You're everything to me

Rain Down
Rain down, rain down
Rain down your love on your people
Rain down, rain down
Rain down your love O Lord
Faithful and true
Is the word of our Lord
Your works all praise your name
God's mercy rains down
You are faithful and true
In your love we find our need
We who revere
And find hope in our Lord
Abide 'neath the shadow
Of the Almight
God will protect and keep us from harm
He will never leave us alone

Jesus, Your Love Broke Through
Save me and I'll be saved
Fill me and I'll be filled
Heal me and I'll be healed
To serve you
To serve you
In the darkness of my night
You came to rescue me
In the pain of my heartache
Your light shown through
And the glory of your Son
Rained down on me
Filling this broken heart with your love
You saved me
You filled me
You healed me by your love
You saved me
You filled me
You healed me by your love
Jesus
Jesus
Jesus your love broke through

What Can They Do
Thinking back over all the things
We've been through
And all the broken promises
I've made you
Of all the souls that are burning
Because I wouldn't obey
Lord, what will they do
Lord, what can they do
The fields are white to harvest
The laborers are few
The blood of the masses
Stains the hands of the few
And here I sit
My heart content
To warm this pew
Lord, what will they do
Lord, what can they do
Hear the call that is sounding
Throughout the land
Jesus Christ is coming
Fulfilling God's plan
Souls in untold numbers
Depart to the flames
Lord, what will they do
Lord, what can they do

You Are My God
You are my God
You are my King
You are my God
To you I sing
I lift up my voice
To declare your name
You are my God
You are my King
I will praise you
Lord I love you
I will glorify your name
In all the earth
I will praise you
Lord I love you
I will glorify your name
In all the earth
I lift up my voice
I lift up my praise
I lift up my hands
To your holy name
I lift up my voice
To declare your name
You are my God
You are my King

Broken Promises
Broken promises and shattered dreams
All my illusions they're vanishing
There are no answers that comfort me
But to know that you still love me
*Through life's disappointments
And the things that bring us pain
When things don't make sense at all
There's only one answer
That comforts me
Just to know that you still love me
*When this life is over
And they cover me with earth
Write these words upon my stone
The only thing that mattered
While I was on my way
Was to know that you loved me

Long Lonely Road
It's easy to close our eyes to the needs that are all around us - many that will never be met unless we personally get involved. Every state, every continent, every island that I've visited has them. Jesus told the parable of the "Good Samaritan" who took the time to meet the needs of someone who needed help in a desperate way. Can we do any less? There's a lot of heart ache around us that all too often we harden our senses toward and pretend we don't see. How would we feel if we were wearing their shoes?
It's been a long lonely road
Such a long lonely road
I've traveled down the low way
Of grief and pain
It's been a long lonely road
*Picking through a garbage can
In the alleys and streets
Or digging in a dumpster to find a bit to eat
You won't hear the words she's saying
The shame her lips have sealed
But her heart it cries out
For the world to hear
*You can see him in the lamplight
Cold and blue from the pain
Of another night on capitol streets
In the cold and in the rain
Who cares in the morning
If he's a number at the morgue
'Least he's not out begging
For a hand out at our door
Can you hear him cry
*She's hardly more than a child herself
With a child on the way
Victim of a drunkards wrath
Who thought it was play
Now she's headed out to who know's where
Seeking peace for her soul
And where she'll wind up
Nobody knows
Listen as she cries
It's a long lonely road
Such a long lonely road
I'm traveling down the low way
Of grief and pain
It's such a long lonely road
