Reason To Rejoice
Philippians 4:4
Rejoice in the LORD always. Again I will say, rejoice!
Is there a more appropriate way to recognize and herald the Gospel? I can think of none.
Rejoice my friends. The LORD has come to us. Let the earth and all its inhabitants receive the King of kings. Let every heart make room for the LORD while all Creation gives glory and praise to its Creator.
Rejoice my friends. The LORD has come to us. Let the earth and all its inhabitants receive the Savior who reigns Supreme. Let not sin grow in your hearts to multiply sorrow upon sorrow. As far as the curse of sin is found, the grace of our LORD abounds to overcome the sadness of sin.
Rejoice my friends. The LORD has come to us. He rules the earth with truth and grace and the nations and their mortal kings will bow before Him and acknowledge Him as King of glory. His righteousness and the wonders of His love far exceed our mortal comprehension yet He reaches His holy hand to each of us to receive us unto Himself.
Rejoice my friends. The LORD has come to us. There's nothing here that's of more worth than to abide in His presence and to know His forgiveness, love and grace. Put everything aside that brings pain to others. Forgive unconditionally. Don't allow bitterness and envy to enlarge the gulf that separates neighbors, families and friends. Mend the breaches and renew relationships that have been damaged because of sin.
Rejoice my friends. The LORD has come to us. Though He had every right to refuse the demotion from glory to humanity, yet He chose the way of the God-child born in a humble setting and He chose the suffering of the Cross as the means to secure our redemption before returning to His exalted place.
May the Spirit of the exalted Christ open the eyes of our understanding and cause us to see the glory that awaits us in His presence. And may that glimpse of His glory be sufficient to cause us to give ourselves to living justly, loving mercy, and to walking humbly with our God.
