Wiccan Holidays
Sabbats
The Sabbats are witch holy days. Each has its own meaning:

Samhain- Oct. 31st.- Witches New Year- Remembrance of the dead
Imbolc- Feb. 2nd.- Festival of Maiden- Time of cleansing
Beltane- May 1st.- Fertility Festival- fertility
Lughnasadh- Aug. 1st.- Pre Harvest Festival- Turning point in mother earth's year

Esbats

Esbats, like Sabbats, are also Witch holy days, but these fall on each of the thirteen full moons of the year. It is believed that on these days sacred energies can be harnessed. We celebrate with cakes and ale. Handfastings (weddings) and Wiccanings are some events that have traditionally been held on Esbat.
