The Hash started in the 1930s with paper chases around around the countryside near Kuala Lumpur. Hashing today takes place almost everywhere,this year the InterHash [bi-annual AGM of hashing] in Goa saw over 2,500 hashers taking part. This included Hashers from the original KLH3 club.
Hashing
is often described as an activity for runners with a drinking problem.

RA:Religious Adviser-ensure that any misdemeanors [such as being an
SCB]on the run are punished with a Down Down[more on this later].
HARES:These are the Hashers who set the run,there will normally be 3…one who
can run and keep up,one who will move about the pack and one who is called the
SWEEP HARE who hangs about towards the back to encourage people along.
DRAYS:Hashers that set up the Downs Downs and generally look after the beer.
HASH TRASH:The
simplest answer, of course, is that the newsletters of the social hounds and
hares group called the Hash House Harriers are commonly referred to as Hash
Trash. ‘Hash', obviously for the group it represents, and ‘Trash', because
the contents are usually not worth consideration by the literary elite.
Down
Down: Drinking a beer in one or wearing it i.e. pouring it over your head!
Circle
:At the end of the run where Hashers gather to discuss the run ,have a
few rounds of down downs and sing some songs.

Handle :The nickname all true hashers are proudly known by. What’s yours?
SCBs( Short Cutting Bastartds)-Those hashers who decide to take a short cut to the beer .When caught they are given a down-down
FRBs(Front Running Bastartds)-Those hashers who stary away from the pack and want to get to the beer before anyone else ,yup they too are given a down-down.
