I know I heard the first seven notes of this song in Ghana, sung by a church choir in the Ewe language and complete with the drums and rattles. This is an attempt to reproduce the experience for a local church choir, but in English.
If you were to be authentic, you would take away all the sheet music from your choir and teach each part word by word, note by note. People would learn this from memory. Then you would get your drummers together and dance into the sanctuary to this song.
