Welcome to a new school year! Throughout the year, we will be coordinating
support activities for the class. RVCS relies heavily on parental involvement,
and we are here to provide you with the opportunity to get involved. Over
the coming weeks and months, we will be asking for your help. Some ways
to help include:
Drive. The school has no bus or other means of transportation.
We rely on parents to drive students to field trips and other off-site activities.
Wish list. Occasionally we will send home a wish list of materials needed
in the classroom. When everyone pitches in, we can make sure Kourtney and
Patti have a well stocked classroom.
Read. Parents are welcome in the classroom to assist the teachers
with small group reading.
Material preparation. At times, Kourtney and Patti may need assistance
with photocopying, laminating, or other material preparation.
Chaperone. For field trips and other activities.
Bring snacks. Following a Montessori tradition, the class shares
a snack each day. The students will be planning, budgeting, shopping for
and preparing the snacks every week.
Parents are asked to help provide for these nutritious snacks and drinks
for each member of the class by sending in $25 on their family's assigned
week to cover the cost. Please click on the list of families and due
dates.
Remember that time spent helping out counts toward the 40 hours per family
that the school requires. As you work, log your time in the school lobby.
