Dear Families,
We are now a
full week into the new school year, and we have definitely hit the ground
running. Your children are relentless in their pursuit of work, and for that we
are very thankful to you. We will be studying creation starting this week, so
if you have any questions, please let us know. As always, you can either
contact us at (978) 465-0065 ext. 24 or via email. Our email address is [email protected].
A
Note About Lunch
It is very
important to remember that we have a serious peanut allergy in our classroom,
and we need to police the lunches and snacks that we send to school with our
children. Granola and
Granola-type bars, Kudos bars and many other food items have peanuts and/or
peanut derivatives. We have to be extra-careful that we read ingredient labels
and monitor the food that comes into the classroom. Please contact us if you
have any questions.
Other
Matters:
By now, you
should have heard from our classroom PALS about the snack schedule. The
schedule is also posted outside our classroom and it will be posted on the
class website. We update our classroom website with the most current
information that we have regarding our class and our school, so visit it often.
The website address is www.geocities.com/kpclass <http://www.geocities.com/kpclass> .
We use cloth napkins during snack, and
one of our classroom jobs will be to wash napkins and any other towels or
linens we may use in the classroom once a week. Therefore, be prepared for
these items to come home to be washed if your child has the responsibility for
them that week.
We would also like to schedule home
visits to better get to know our students and their families. These visits are
entirely voluntary. If you are interested, we will be calling to set up times
that we can visit.
We are looking for Parent Reading
Buddies. Any parent who is interested in coming in to the classroom to read
with our students after lunch on Tuesdays or Fridays should contact us. We hope
to implement Parent Reading Buddies as soon as we have Parent Readers.
Finally, there is an E1 parents‚
night this Thursday, September 12 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Marilyn will be
providing child-care during that time. Please join us and the rest of the E1
faculty to learn more about us, our class and the school.
