Welcome and Happy Fall!!!!

The students are doing very well in all areas and are looking forward to the many wonderful fall lessons and crafts planned for the next two months.
We will be celebrating the Feast Days of our Guardian Angels, St. Francis of Assisi and most importantly the fact that October is the month of The Rosary. We will begin a special 1 A tradition.. Each week a student will bring home a statue of Mary along with a rosary. Mary will visit in the home for five days. During that time the families will be encouraged to pray the rosary as a family  and say individual prays as well.
The students continue to do  well with our reading groups, spelling and vocabulary lists  as well as science and math.

Science will find us sorting, observing and recording information about apples and pumpkins.

We will be discovering America with Columbus and decide if we would have sailed with him or not.

We will begin the second book in our reading series and will of course be reading and responding to many wonderful pieces of literature. The book of the month is Sister Anne's Hands by Marybeth Lorbiecki. The C-Project connection is  Right Judgment(or counsel) a gift of the HolySpirit. Read Matthew 25: 14-30 .

Math will find us reading and working with graphs, analyzing data, estimating and comparing length and working with different ways to measure.

Please remember to read nightly with your student as this reinforces all of our language arts lessons.
